Cebrace App

Client: Saint-Gobain Brazil

Project: App Design, MVP

Team: Guilherme Takaki, Flavio Santana, José Olenscki, Laio Anatole e Felipe Rodrigues.

The project

Cebrace is the biggest producer of glass float in South America, the result of a joint-venture between Pilkington and Saint-Gobain. On the 1º Saint- Gobain Hackathon they had the following challenge: thinking of low cost and time, they need a solution where architects could test Cebrace products in their projects.

During the first 24h of Hackathon, we made interviews and qualitative surveys with architects to understand their needs. The critical point was: this kind of glass is heavy and need carefully transportation to arrive at the buildings. In some cases, before the installation, the architects realize that those glasses weren’t the ideal one and most of the cases the pieces arrived broken.

We started with the Design Thinking Double Diamond process to define the steps of work and what we needed to focus to make the idea comes to life. After a lot of meetings with Cebrace stakeholders, we started to test a solution that matches the architect’s context. The aim was to minimize or even eliminate the need to use the glass before being placed.

The idea

The idea was to design a mobile application that can simulate some filters with Cebrace colors catalog. With this solution, the architects could apply these filters in any building image to simulate the appearance of the chosen glass, without place the pieces.

We built the interface with a learning curve, like Instagram or similar applications that use filters who fits some shape.

The MVP has 3 main features:

- Glass Catalog;
- Glass Filter;
- Localization of other Cebrace Glass Projects;
